Ski Conditioning in WhiteFish, MT

At 4 Seasons Fitness, Ski Conditioning gets your legs, core, and balance mountain-ready before the lifts turn, so opening day feels like flow instead of catching up. Serving Whitefish and the whole Flathead Valley.

You Won’t Be the Only Beginner

Walking into a class worried you’ll be the only one who’s out of shape, or the only one who’s never set foot on a chairlift, is real. Ski Conditioning caps at six people, so you’re never lost in a crowd and never guessing whether the person next to you is watching you struggle with a lunge.

You get direct coaching from a certified strength and conditioning coach the entire session, not a video loop or a rotating instructor. Beginners and returning skiers train side by side, because the work is the same either way: legs, core, and balance that hold up on the mountain.

Training Built for the Mountain

General gym workouts build general fitness, but skiing asks for something more specific: eccentric leg strength for absorbing turns, core stability for uneven terrain, and balance that holds up after hour three on the mountain. Whitefish Mountain Resort has 2,353 vertical feet of descent across 110 plus trails, and that kind of terrain punishes anyone who shows up with gym only strength and no sport specific prep.

Ski Conditioning is coached by Dave Macaluso, who holds the NSCA-CSCS credential, the certification built specifically for sport conditioning, not general fitness instruction. The program targets the same legs, core, and balance work skiing actually demands.

Real Coaching, Not a Crowded Class

$200 for members and $400 for non-members (includes 2 month gym membership) covers the entire ten week program, twenty classes total, not a per class drop in fee.

That works out to direct coaching from a certified strength coach, in a group capped at 8, twice a week for two and a half months. You’re not paying for a generic class filled to capacity. You’re paying for coaching built around what your legs and lungs actually need before the lifts start turning.

8 Spots. One Start Date.

Ski Conditioning only has 8 spots, and once the program is full, it’s full. There’s no rolling enrollment or drop in option once October 6 hits.

The ten week program runs Tuesday and Thursday through December 10, timed to end the week after ski season opening day, so you’re not still building strength once you’re already on the mountain instead of before it.

Feuquently Asked Questions

No. The program is capped at eight people specifically so a certified strength coach can work with beginners and experienced skiers side by side. The training targets the same legs, core, and balance work every skier needs, regardless of where you’re starting from. You won’t be lost in a crowd or guessing whether anyone is watching you struggle with a new movement.

$200 for 4 Seasons Fitness members and $400 for non-members which includes a 2 month membership. That covers the full ten week program, twenty classes total, not a per class fee. Enrollment is capped at eight people per session, so you’re paying for direct, hands on coaching rather than a crowded class.

Classes run Tuesday and Thursday, October 6 through December 10, twenty classes in total. The schedule is timed to wrap up the week after ski season opening day, so your legs, core, and balance are ready before you’re on the mountain instead of catching up once you’re already there.

Eight. That cap is intentional. It keeps the class small enough for the coach to actually correct your form and answer questions, instead of running a class where a handful of people get real attention and everyone else follows along from the back.

No. Members pay two hundred dollars and non-members pay four hundred dollars for the full program. Non-members are welcome to join Ski Conditioning on its own without a gym membership, though the discounted member rate is one more reason current members get more value out of theirs.
